Team SRC Kawasaki, the official Kawasaki Endurance Racing Team, has kicked into gear for the Le Mans 24 hour race this week.

During the pre-Le Mans test which took place at the famous Bugatti circuit for two days, Team SRC Kawasaki hurled themselves into the task with enthusiasm. Those two days of tests had several goals.

Pirelli brought many different compounds of tyres and the team worked very hard to find the perfect balance between the performance and the life. “We had a large choice of tyres thanks to Pirelli, and we had to find the perfect choice. Gregory was focusing on the performance and I focused on the tyre condition in long riding sessions” explained by Matthieu Lagrive.

At Le Mans, the weather conditions were not very good. Rain and cold weather disturbed the planning of the test to some extent, as Gregory Leblanc explains : “The tests were good but we did not ride as much as we wished. Weather conditions were always changing, with rain, wind”.

Finally, three riders and the team could find a new confidence in the overall performance of their Ninja ZX-10R, a bike that seems to be born for Endurance Racing. It is easy to handle, powerful and very reliable according to Fabien Foret who was satisfied with the result of testing :

We have a good start for 2015, despite the bad weather conditions”.

Leblanc concluded: ”We did the same lap times as other official teams and we are three riders who work well as a team. In fact, there are only few tenths of a second between us. That is our strength. ”

In the team, the ambiance is good. “Everybody is focused on the objectives, we are ramping up” observed Fabien.

We are confident for the first race and know the bike and its strengths perfectly. Our competitor’s results do not concern us at this stage. Instead, we are focused on our objectives and we will all work together to win this prestigious race once more” said Gregory.

The next Le Mans race will be the 38th and, by coincidence, that is the race number of Leblanc in the French Superbike Championship. The French rider – along with his two riding partners - is more motivated than ever to make this race an exceptional one!
