Aron Canet and Hafizh Syahrin continue their adaptation to the intermediate category and the Speed Up chassis

Speed Up has concluded the preseason in the first position of the combined results of the intermediate category. The three-days test in Qatar have come to an end with Jorge Navarro as the fastest rider, after the Spaniard has achieved a 1:58.520 in the last session of the day. Jorge Martín and Remy Gardner complete the first three positions.

Among the top ten in the category there’s only one rookie rider, the Spanish Aspar Team rider Aron Canet, who closes the Qatar test with the seventh overall position and only half a second off Navarro's time. The Valencian has completed several laps in really fast times and aims to keep that record within seven days, in the first race of the season.

Hafizh Syahrin continues to complete his adaptation to the Speed Up and has finished the pre-season tests with a solid fifteenth position, eight tenths off the best marks after only having ridden his new bike for ten days since testing began. The Malaysian hopes to continue the progression with his team and the Speed Up and to be able to get more corner speed, one of the aspects that marks in his list of possible improvements before what will be his first Moto2 race in more than two years.

7th Aron Canet 1: 59.060 (+0.540, 170 laps): “The tests have gone very well. Today I was third, first and sixth in each of the sessions, but not only that: the pace has been incredible and I have scored many 1:59, something that seemed impossible yesterday. In this category we need not just a quick lap, but also to maintain a constant pace, and we have that. I feel prepared to start the season.”

15th Hafizh Syahrin 1: 59.377 (+0.857, 141 laps): “In general I am happy, because I have not ridden this bike for a long time and with little experience on it, I have managed to stay eight tenths off the best time. We are focused on the race weekend. I want to compete and I can say that I have a good race pace. Surely, we can continue to improve to find more corner speed. I have adapted well to the bike and I just need to improve little by little.”
