The Aspar Team rider continues the good line of work with a second position in the opening of the Qatar test, on a track where Stefano Nepa has debuted with good feelings

Aspar Team rider Albert Arenas was one of the most prominent riders in the Jerez test last week and has premiered in the Qatar tests with good pace in second position, just three tenths off the fastest of the day, the Argentinean Gabriel Rodrigo. Arenas has finished happy with how this first day of training developed, as he has completed 36 laps with a better lap time of 2:05.943. The Aspar Team rider wants to take advantage of the remaining two days of testing on the Losail track to arrive to the first race of the season with the better set-up possible and with the aim of opening the year with a result according to his work.

For Stefano Nepa it has been the first contact with the Losail circuit, where he has never competed. The Italian has maintained a steady pace of work throughout the three sessions of the day and has stopped the clock at a 2:07.941 that puts him in the twenty-third position of the combined results standings. Nepa has been able to memorize the track in the first session of the day and in the other two he has focused more on achieving a good set-up for his KTM, with which to continue improving his performance.

2nd Albert Arenas 2:05.943 (+0.350, 36 laps): “I am happy with how the day went because I have had good feelings since the beginning. We have picked up the pace easily and have worked hard. I think we have a good base and we are in the right direction, but we have to keep working on some details.”

23rd Stefano Nepa 2: 07.941 (+2.348, 47 laps): “We arrived at a new track for me, but I have to say that I have managed to learn it quickly. We have started to work on the bike to improve the feelings and, although it has taken us a bit to find the balance in the set-up, in the last session we have taken a big step forward and I have been able to improve by a second. There is work to be done because the fastest riders are very strong, but I am happy with how the day has generally gone because it is not easy to go fast from the first moment.”
