The Spanish rider has qualified in the front row of the grid after having to go through Q1, while Stefano Nepa will start from the eighth row

The Aspar Team and Albert Arenas have started the season in a great way, with a first row of the grid thanks to the third position the Spanish has achieved in the qualifying session. For Arenas, it will be the fourth Grand Prix he starts from the front row of the grid, always from third place, after Austria 2018 and Thailand and Australia 2019. The Aspar Team rider is happy with both his race pace and his bike set-up. He will work tomorrow to make that first row into an optimal race result.

His teammate Stefano Nepa has finished three tenths away from the chance to get into Q2. The Italian has worked together with his team throughout the weekend to improve his race pace, but in the qualifying session he has not been able to match a perfect lap that would have allowed him to follow in the footsteps of Arenas. Despite this, Nepa feels confident in its chances and will continue working to score points on a regular basis.

3rd Albert Arenas 2:04.925: “I am very happy with both the pace and the set-up, because it has not been easy. We did the job well and we managed, after going through Q1, to enter Q2 and get into the first row with only one tyre available. We will see the race tomorrow; we do not know how it will be because it is still the first one of the season, but we will prepare ourselves for what it may come.”

22nd Stefano Nepa 2:06.056: “It has not gone as I wanted, but we have not failed at all. The strategy has been correct but the perfect lap has not come out. I felt that I was able to enter Q2 because we worked well during the test and the weekend. We are in an intermediate position and whoever has the race pace will make a difference. I have improved today, so I am positive for tomorrow.”
